The AFL Excellence Program was introduced in 2017 following many years of success for our AFL teams at the District Gala Day competitions. Each year trials are held to select the best 15 skilled AFL players who will complete the program, with the team entered into both the District Championships and the AFL Queensland Schools Cup. The excellence program enables participants to improve their skills and fitness levels and to learn the broader aspects of the game including game plans, offence and defensive tactics and the wider issues such as racism in sport and the importance team based activities. The excellence program is well supported by AFL Queensland and is a feeder program and recruitment base for the Aspley Hornets AFL Football Club who sponsor our 'Player with Most Potential Award'. The Eatons Hill excellence team last year made the grand final of the Queensland Schools Cup and were undefeated District North Champions as well.
